Once Again Seeking Those with Personal Tie to Alzheimer’s Disease to Walk in Runway Show

OMAHA, Neb. – Tuesday, December 3, 2019 – Max I. Walker is seeking Volunteer Models of all shapes and sizes to walk the runway in its Dress Raffle Fashion Show on February 1, 2020, at the Ultra Chic Boutique dress sale, benefiting the Nebraska Alzheimer's Association. The Fashion Show features some of the best and most beautiful gowns that have been donated to the sale, and raffles off the ‘first right to purchase’ these special dresses for just $30 to shoppers.

“The Dress Raffle Fashion Show started as a fun way to get the crowd involved and provide some entertainment to those waiting in line for the fitting rooms. We used models from a local agency for the first several years,” said Casey Walker, Director of Retail Operations for Max I. Walker. “Last year we wanted to do something a little more meaningful and get people with a personal tie to Alzheimer’s involved in the fashion show. We had such a great response that we decided to make this our new approach. Having people with their own Alzheimer’s journey participate gives the community a new way to contribute to our goal of raising funds and awareness for the disease and its impact.”

For applicants, no prior modeling experience is necessary, and everyone 14 and older is welcome to apply. Those interested can apply by sharing a video of what inspires them to help raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer's Disease by volunteering to model in the Dress Raffle Fashion Show to the Max I. Walker Facebook page. Detailed instructions on how to apply are available on the Ultra Chic Boutique Dress Raffle Fashion Show page on the Max I. Walker website. The deadline to apply is December 24, 2019.

The funds raised from the raffle and dress sales will be used by the Alzheimer’s Association to further the Association’s mission to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. The 2020 Ultra Chic Boutique will be the third year that Max I. Walker partners with the Association for the fundraiser. The 2018 and 2019 events raised a combined total of $38,000.
