2021 Ultra Chic Boutique Dress Sale Postponed

OMAHA, Neb. – Monday, Nov. 9, 2020 – Max I. Walker announces the 14th Annual Ultra Chic Boutique dress sale will be postponed due to concerns surrounding COVID-19. The event has traditionally been held annually on the first Saturday of February, but the upcoming sale will be unable to happen at that time in 2021. Max I. Walker is committed to the health and safety of our community, and the nature of this event does not lend itself to proper social distancing, nor to adequate sanitization procedures throughout the day.

“We hope to find a way to have the event at some point in 2021, but will not move forward with it until we are certain we can keep both shoppers and volunteers safe,” said Casey Walker, director of retail operations for Max I. Walker. “It’s more important than ever for businesses to consider how their actions and choices impact community spread, and we believe it’s our responsibility to minimize that as much as possible.”

Donations of long formal, prom and wedding dresses will still be accepted across the Omaha metro at all 10 open Max I. Walker locations. Employees will continue to clean and press donated dresses at no charge. The dresses will be safely stored at a Max I. Walker facility until the event is able to happen once more. Whenever the next sale occurs, all proceeds will once again be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association Nebraska Chapter. That will mark the fourth consecutive time the event will benefit the association; in 2018, 2019 and 2020 a total of about $60,000 was raised.

The funds raised for the Alzheimer’s Association are used to further their mission to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

Visit www.maxiwalker.com/ucb/ for the latest information about the status of the event, or follow the event on social media (facebook.com/maxiwalkeromaha, @ultrachicboutique on Instagram, @maxiwalkeromaha on Twitter).
