Max’s Coats for Kids

Donate a Coat. Warm a Heart. ❤️

This August, join Max I. Walker in collecting new or gently used coats for kids in need. We’ll clean every coat for free, then donate them to local children this winter.

Starting August 1, coats can be donated at any of the 10 Max I. Walker locations in Omaha and Council Bluffs. Donation bins will be available in the lobby of the stores. We can accept any size, from infant to adult-sized coats, through the end of October. All recipients will be kids who may not otherwise be able to have a coat for the upcoming winter. Cleaned coats will be given away, at no cost to the recipient family.

Our benefitting partner for 2025 is Project Intentional! This Omaha-based nonprofit collects items, including kids coats, year-round and offers them to moms and caregivers in need every December. Their mission is simple: No child and no caregiver should go through the holiday season without receiving a gift in the Omaha metro area. Project Intentional is here to make the season brighter and the load lighter. All collected and freshly cleaned coats will be donated directly to the organization, to be passed on at no cost to the recipient families.

Why We're Doing This

Every child deserves to stay warm during the cold winter months. That’s why we've launched Max’s Coats for Kids — laundry may be our day job, but giving back is our passion, so why not marry the two together?

When you donate a new or gently used coat, we’ll clean it — free of charge — and pass it along to Project Intentional, who’ll ensure it gets to a child in need this winter.

How to Participate

  1. Collect a new or gently used coat in any size. Remember, many teens wear adult sizes.
  2. Drop it off at any Max I. Walker location between August 1 and October 31.
  3. We’ll take care of the rest — cleaning and delivering the coats to Project Intentional.

Drop-off Deadline: October 31
